About RFL

Founded in 2019, RFL is an independent Australian jewelry label by Hannah Roche and Lach Malone.

RFL began with their own wedding rings. Hannah and Lach trained in fine jewelry making at Sturt, Australia's oldest craft and design centre, so they could make the rings for each other by hand. On their first wedding anniversary in 2019, they founded RFL from their studio in Paddington, Sydney.

Since then, RFL has been shown at Paris and New York Fashion Weeks, gaining international recognition while remaining grounded in the intimacy of an Australian studio practice.

Before RFL, Hannah worked across fashion and photography (Chanel, Vogue and NET-A-PORTER) and with Bassike and Ethical Clothing Australia. These experiences shaped her commitment to exceptional materials, Australian making and a slower, more considered approach to production.

Lach came to RFL from academia, completing his doctorate in philosophy before stepping back from the university to build the label. His interest in applied ethics shapes RFL's approach to business: asking not only how something should be made, but what a business owes to the world around it.

In 2026, RFL began the next chapter of that idea, partnering with non-profit organisations to direct a portion of its profits towards reducing suffering. Its first focus is animal welfare, supporting work that improves health outcomes for abandoned and vulnerable dogs.

Every RFL piece is made in Australia using responsibly sourced precious materials. RFL's precious metals are supplied through Responsible Jewellery Council-certified sources, bringing together fine craftsmanship, permanence and a commitment to making jewelry responsibly.

RFL makes jewelry intended to hold what matters: love, memory and the physical traces we leave with one another.
